At Kosnahan, our history in Fintech and Blockchain is one of the key areas of focus for our practice. Our personal business experience, including the specification, development and licensing of compliance software for blockchain businessses, gives us a sound understanding of the sector and your requirements.
Our Managing Director first became interested in Blockchain technology in early 2012. At that time, few people had heard of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. After publication of the European Central Banks report on Digital Currencies in October 2012 (which referenced at the time what it called a ‘digital currency’), it was clear Blockchain technologies were going to disrupt multiple industries.
In 2014, some of the earliest UK and IOM crypto-currency exchanges and businesses sought advice from our Managing Director, including practical commercial advice on regulatory compliance, banking, data protection, policies and procedures, compliance with Proceeds of Crime legislation, registration with Financial Service Regulators and Intellectual Property protection (including the registration of Trade Marks and Patents for Blockchain technology).
Time has moved on and Blockchain technology has become so much more…Decentralized Finance is now becoming one of the fastest growing sectors in the space.
